Megan's First Trip(s) to the Pumpkin Patch

Last year at the time I was VERY pregnant and hoping that Megan would enter the world at any time. The day I went into labor, I spent a couple of hours at the pumpkin patch with Kathy, Glen and Lesly. So every year I'm sure the pumpkin patch will bring back that memory to me. A happy reminder of the day we met our daughter!

This year, Megan got to go to three pumpkin patches. It really wasn't the plan, just how it happened. Josh, Megan and I first went to Plumper Pumpkin patch on a weekday. We were the only ones there so it really wasn't very exciting but we got some cute pictures and I got some gourds to decorate our house with.

So the next Farm we went to was the famous Roloff Farm. They are the family that stars in 'Little People, Big World'.

I wonder what Megan thinks of the camera we constantly stick in her face, and by 'we' I mean I. Josh wouldn't want to be lumped into that statement. Anyway, here's another pose and by the way this is my favorite new winter outfit. The vest is the cutest thing ever and I make her wear it practically every day and coordinate her outfits so that she CAN wear it!

We never actually GOT a pumpkin at any of these patches. The Roloff Farm had a 2 hour wait to go on a tour of their farm that we did not wait for and the line just to weigh and pay for your pumpkin had to be at least a 1/2 hour - not a fun time for a 1 year old. So we just saw the sights and I had to go to work but Daddy and Megan.........

....went to Lakeview Farms and met Jeff, Bobbie Jo, Hunter, Aunt Shirley and Gene. Cousins Hunter and Megan had some bonding time and then Daddy took a TIRED baby home for a nap. She had quite the day.

11 Months Old!

Well, I've been trying to update our blog on the 23rd of every month to mark Megan's "birthday" but she got the best of me this weekend. She has been a grumpy pants! It seems I can't do anything right and she is always ticked! She's been whining and crying a lot for seemingly no reason and driving her mommy to the looney bin! I finally checked her gums today (she hates it) and I did feel two teeth coming in on either side of the two she already has. I'm hoping that is the problem and this is only going to be temporary! She is still cute as ever though and melts your heart with a smile no matter how grumpy she has been previously!

Megan has had a lot of firsts this month. You saw the spaghetti earlier, well she also got a taste of her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It of course was pretty cute. The progression of her happiness speaks for itself! She loves peanut butter just like her Daddy.

Megan had a day at the park with Aunt Tami, Grandma and Grandpa. She loves music so Tami thought an evening of music in the park would be just her style.

Before Megan was born Josh bought her her first Steelers gear. It's been sitting in her closet waiting for her to grow into it. We found it the other day and tried it on her, now it barely fits her.
Another first - raiding the treats. While I was in the bedroom, Megan got really quiet so I went to find her and there she was, in the cabinet with all of her Nillas, Puffs and all the other treats. She even figured out how to open the Puffs can. When I found her she didn't know what to do. Proof that she is my kid - stealing cookies.
Megan even took her first step this month on the 14th. It was pretty exciting but I did get tears in my eyes!! So now we are on the countdown to Megan's first birthday. We can't believe she is so big. It doesn't seem like it was already a year ago that I was BEGGING for her to come out! She of course will be having a Princess party for her birthday. Her invitations will be in the mail shortly!

First Spaghetti!!

Megan has been trying all sorts of new foods lately. She basically feeds herself now and has very little 'baby' food. She LOVES grilled cheese sandwiches and had her first ham & cheese sandwich for lunch today. It ended up in a bunch of pieces but it started as a sandwich. She also had her very first spaghetti dinner and REALLY LOVED it!

Already 10 Months Old!

Well, our little Megan is growing so fast. Do I say that every month? She is moving quicker and becoming more comfortable on her feet. She just learned how to walk behind her push walker and thinks she is such a big girl. She pulls herself up on everything, tables, legs, chairs, anything she can. Everything is new to her. It's so fun watching her see things for the first time. Along with all of her moving though, she has decided that sleeping is not for her and she would rather be crawling, playing, doing something than be in her crib in a dark room. We started having to get up 3-4 times a night with her for awhile. It was getting pretty frustrating especially to me when I had late nights at work. I think we're getting back on track though. She's starting to take longer naps in the day and sleeping through the night again. Thank goodness!

It seems she's changing every day too. She has 4 teeth now, two on top and two on bottom. Her hair is growing in thicker and curlier. We can tell that it really is going to be blonde like we've been hoping. Her eyes seem to be a good mix of Josh's and mine. We really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful little girl.

In the pictures below she is standing at our front door looking out at her Daddy doing some yard work.

It's pickle time again! They really quiet her down when she is grumpy or I need a little extra time to finish cleaning the kitchen!

Megan is definitely a water baby. Unfortunately now she is trying to stand up and move all over the tub. Just last night she slipped at least 3 times, with me sitting right there even. She takes it is stride though, doesn't cry and just does it all over again. I think showers with mom and dad are going to be her best friend before long.

"Mohawk Megan"

Little Ham!

Jay and Alia, Campbell and Henley all came over for dinner a few weeks ago. Megan and Henley are only about 5 weeks apart. I think they had fun playing together except when Megan tries to beat him up. She doesn't know her own strength!

Those chubby little legs get a work out now with all of her moving and standing.

Megan and I went to the Street of Dreams in Washington with Grandpa and Grandma. Megan wanted to place her order with Daddy to make her a play house like this one.

And there is the princess!

So in the next couple of months we are going to try and plan this big girl's FIRST birthday party. She's got lots of friends and family who are going to want to share in the excitement with her (us)! Just can't believe it!!!

9 Months Old!

Well, little Megan is getting not so little anymore. We had her 9 month check up today and the doctor says she is doing great. She is 21 lbs. 11 oz. and 28 inches tall. She's actually lost a little bit of weight due to all of her moving around. She's right on track for her age in everything and then some. She can crawl soooo fast now too!

This is a picture of Megan in her first Nike jogging suit from Steve and Cristy Richards. I didn't know if she was going to be able to wear it before she outgrew it but then we had those cloudy/colder days and it was perfect for her. She looked adorable. (Of course!)

Aunt Tami babysat Megan one night so we could go out and this is one picture she took.

Megan has 3 teeth now. They have been quite painful for her but she is being a trooper. You can see her first one in the picture below but now she has two on the bottom and one on top.

We went to LaPine last week from Monday night through Saturday. It was really nice to get away and not think about the things we 'should' be doing. Mom and Dad came over Wednesday through Saturday so we got to spend a lot of time with them and they loved spending time with Megan. They would take her in the morning on walks and hang out with her so that Josh and I could get a little extra much needed sleep. on Friday we all drove to Crater Lake. It was pretty amazing. It just doesn't even look real, in the pictures or in real life.

It was pretty hot in LaPine so we bought Megan a little kiddie pool to float around in. She is such a water baby, she loves it, as you can tell.

How Cute is She!!!?!?!?!

While we were in LaPine Megan really started to pull herself up to a standing position on the couches and tables. She was still quite unsure about it all though and didn't really understand how to get down once she was up. When we got home on Saturday night, it was like we watched a transformation in a matter of seconds. She crawled right up to the table, pulled herself up and then to top it all off, grabbed her own sippie cup and started drinking. Up to that point, we had to still help her with a cup. She's not wasting any time!

So, now we are on a countdown to the big ONE YEAR! I'm already thinking about her party and what we're going to do. We just can't believe it's already been 9 months!
