Our Easter was pretty uneventful this year. Our first Easter with Megan had about 65 pictures taken and this year it went down to about 4. She even brought her basket to us in bed! She got a pretty dress up purse, some hair pretties, bubble bath and of course lots of candy!

Our Finished Bedroom
Our bedroom is finally done and we both love it. It actually feels like a bedroom, a grown up bedroom! I hated having our computer and desk and MESS in our room so I was finally able to get rid of that. It's very calming and now we both love being in there. The new tv didn't hurt either!

Megan's First Haircut
I've been talking to Megan about getting her haircut for some time now and always with the same outcome.....her freaking out. So I just haven't fought it. Well, after gymnastics today I decided it was time. I made an appointment with my friend Tracy and brought her in. She did a great job. Of course she thought it was going to hurt but after the first cut she realized it wouldn't. We didn't take much off at all. I just wanted it to be healthier looking and have more of a straight edge at the bottom. And it does look much better! She sat really still and moved her head when Tracy needed her to. When she was all done she got a tootsie pop and a balloon! And mom got to keep a little lock of her hair!
Megan TRYING not to smile....
Looking pretty cute in the mirror
All done! She did a great job. You wouldn't really notice we did anything but I can!
Serious Catching Up to Do!
I am way behind in my posting. I've skipped ahead and forgotten to post some stuff. I think I get caught up in Facebook and don't realize all of the time that some people aren't on there to see what I'm posting. Anyway, this should catch everyone up to the present.
Megan started school in the middle of February. I started my Esthetics business at a new salon at that time and needed to find somewhere for Megan to be. My mom helped me out in my first 3 months in business so it was time to give her her time back too! Megan was very excited about her first day and thank goodness didn't cry....until the second day. When we got there she went right in and started playing. It was great for me because I would have lost it if she had started crying and had to be pulled away from me. Instead I made back into my car before I lost it. Since then, she has better days than others but overall is having a good time and is meeting new little friends.
Megan spent the night with Aunt Mimi in February and took a special trip to the Children's Museum and got to see Clifford the Big Red Dog which she still talks about!
A blustery day in the backyard trying to get some yardwork done. Megan doing her share to keep our pampered Sampson dry. Pathetic.
So everyone knows now that we are having a baby boy. When we found out we were pregnant we decided that we should switch bedrooms with the kids. Ours was a little bigger and would accomodate two kids better than Megan's current room. So the weekend after we found out the news we got busy. Probably not the best planning because having Megan around was a little hectic and hard on her because there really wasn't anywhere for her to take naps, etc. But we made it through. This is a picture of Megan's room before the new mom and dad paint.
Megan was so excited to help paint and had a lot of fun.
This picture was probably taken at at least 9p.m.....
After FOUR trips to the store, one to Fred Meyer and three to Home Depot, we finally got the paint colors right and on the walls! Oh I was so annoyed. But it looked great when it was all done!
I still have as of yet to take a picture with our furniture/decor in the room. And I totally spaced taking a before picture of our old bedroom. But I'll post a final kids room picture when it's all done.
Last Saturday we took advantage of a local Easter Egg Hunt in Sherwood. It was a beautiful day and perfect for the hunt. Megan was really excited of course!
Megan was "scared" at first when she saw the Easter Bunny but then she saw the bucket of lollipops. Enough said.
Waiting for the hunt to begin.
The hunt was over before we knew it but Megan got her fair share. We told her just to run as fast as she could and then start picking up candy. Well apparently that's what all the parents told the kids because Megan chose to do it her way and picked up the candy they were all passing up. If she found an empty egg she held it up to me confused and tossed it back on the grass.
Megan and her loot.

We're Having a Baby Boy!
We had our ultrasound yesterday and found out that we are having a baby boy! We are very excited, I think both of us expected a girl and would have been fine with that but now we have one of each and have the perfect little family! I've already done some shopping - there just happens to be a baby sale at Fred Meyer right now - go figure! And oh my gosh, all of the baseball stuff I couldn't get for Megan - I CAN or WILL GET!
The start of a brand new wardrobe!
We went to the mall yesterday to get Megan's picture taken with the Easter Bunny (that post later) and got a chance to meet up with Baby Bria (and her mommy and daddy). It was Megan's first time seeing her and she was so precious with her. She cradled her in her arms (supported by me of course) and bounced her just like a little mommy. She gave her kisses - luckily she happens to be healthy at the moment - and rubbed her arms and played with her little tiny fingers. She is going to be such a good big sister and a very big helper to mommy.
I don't know if it's the same for everyone but I think the baby becomes more real when I know what the gender is - it gives me something to imagine and plan for. I know a lot of people say that when you find out early, the surprise is gone. I don't think so, we were still just as surprised yesterday as we would have been at his birth. And it didn't mean any less to us. And of course we still have the surprise of his arrival and when that may happen. Until then, we are anticipating......

Lesly is Free
I just wanted to let whoever is listening know that Lesly passed away tonight around 8:30 p.m. I guess it was last night at this point. She was at home with her mom and dad and in her own bed. She knew what was happening and they were able to calm her and let her go in peace. No one should ever have to go through what her parents went through tonight or for the last 5 years of her life. They are strong and they will make it through this though, in their own time. Now the healing can begin.

17 Weeks!
Everything is going well so far. I can definitely tell I am pregnant these days. I already feel like I don't have any abdominal muscles and I find myself huffing and puffing just bending over and moving around. There is definitely something "in the way" now and I can't sleep on my stomach anymore either.
My 16 week check up went well, everything is measuring right. Megan wanted the doctor to "open it up" so she could see the baby. He couldn't do that but she did get to hear "his" little heartbeat.

16 Weeks!
I couldn't do my weekly post this week because I was a little busy working a 10 hour day. Happy Valentine's Day to me. On a side note - I'm not really sure how an avacado can be bigger than an orange but...okay.

Megan's Surprise
Since we don't really care who wins the Super Bowl this year, we didn't make any exciting plans. Megan's been a really good girl lately so I told her that when she got up from her nap she would get a surprise. We walked down the street and she got her nails painted like a big girl. She was so good, sat really still and love it. She picked purple for her nails and then the lady also put sparkly hearts on each nail. When she was doing that Megan said, "Barney will love it!" I'm not sure if that's why she picked purple or what but she did describe the color was "purple like Barney" when telling Tami about it. She's so funny.
15 Weeks
Eventually I might lose track of where I am..... but I'll tell you - that won't happen until the nausea goes away. So here we are:

The Kiddos' Room
Well, I've had some luck in the kids' room bedding hunt. I just happened to pick up the Kohl's ad before my shift started on Sunday and this bedding was on the front cover. It really jumped out at me for some reason and I decided that I like it for Megan's bedding. It is grown up but that means she can use it for awhile! It's also feminine without being too girly if she'll be sharing a room with a baby brother.
So then that led me to find something to go with it for the baby and I found this at Babies R Us. It would be good for a boy or a girl. If it does turn out to be a girl, I might find something more feminine but I think I'm set on Megan's bedding so I'll still be matching it to that.
I'm not real sure about the walls yet, maybe the olive green that is in Megan's bedding but that might be too much green. But, all we have is time! What do you think?

Is it possible.....
...to be a planner AND a procrastinator? I will totally admit I procrastinate way too much but I think it's just in regards to things I don't like to do. This is why you are more likely than not to find our house in complete disarray at any given time. I do however think I am a planner as well but truth be told, only for things I LIKE to do. For example, I am 'only' 12 weeks pregnant but all I can think about is trying to find boy and girl bedding and decor that will go together just in case we are having a boy. I want to be prepared! So, if you have nothing better to do, feel free to do some online shopping for me. When I search for help, all I can really find are theme suggestions like fish and I haven't found one idea that I like. I wish I could find matching boy and girl sports themes but of course the girl's is probably non existent. I have found matching crib bedding that is made in both girl and boy colors which would be perfect for twin babies but I will need crib bedding and twin size bedding and I haven't been able to find that combination.
So that's what is going on in my head right now. Really, really important stuff!

Big News!
We've been waiting a long 7 weeks to let the news out! We are expecting a baby in August! Today I am 12 weeks along, just another 28 to go! We're very excited and have been making plans ever since we found out. There is going to be some major moving around and redecorating but that will be fun. I wasn't sure how far along I was so the doctor ordered an ultrasound at the beginning of January. We found I was a week ahead of where they estimated which was good news for me because I have not been feeling well. I was hoping that my sickness would magically turn off now that I am 12 weeks but it doesn't seem to be the case. With Megan's pregnancy, I was sick from Week 6 to Week 12 and seemed to turn off like a switch. I think because I've been looking forward to this day so much, I may have jinxed myself. Ugh. It hasn't been as bad as it was with Megan though, just more constant.
We haven't really told Megan yet. We are speaking in hypotheticals at this point. We figure it will seem like years to her if we told her now. She does want to be a big sister though and she will love having a baby around the house. She always has to touch and talk to all of the babies she sees. This will be a dream come true for her! Our goal right now is getting big sister out of diapers! So far, I'm not sure who is winning. More on that later!

Our Anniversary
Today is our 4th anniversary and I just so happen to be flying to Phoenix this afternoon to celebrate my sister's 35th birthday which is tomorrow. I have been so crazy busy that I haven't had time to even get Josh a card. So I thought the next best thing would be to write something to him for all the "world" to see.
Dear Josh,
Since the moment I met you, I have loved you. I know you like to tease me about that but I know it is absolutely true. I am so blessed that you came back into my life and gave me the best gift ever. You are my best friend that I know I can share anything with you. When I am frustrated or scared, you always know how to calm me down. You always show me that I can do it, I can perservere and make my/our dreams happen. You always know how to make me laugh even when you're not trying and I love being able to make you laugh, even if it's at my own expense which is usually the case. I will always hold you on a pedestal, respect you and love you. I will teach our kids to do the same. I often think about not only how much I love you but how much I LIKE you. You are always my number one choice to spend time with, we get so little of it. You are also a wonderful daddy. I appreciate how much thought you put into how we raise Megan. How you think about what you do and how you do it and always trying to make it better or do what's best for her. She can be quite a challenge but I know that together we will raise a wonderful little girl. I know she is a mama's girl but she loves you so much and her life would not be the same without you. Someday she will tell you how lucky she is to have you as her daddy. And who knows, she might turn into daddy's girl here soon.
I just hope I tell you often enough how much you mean to me. You are everything to me.
Love you forever,
Kristie
