Cuddle Bear

Joshua is an angel, pure and simple.  He is so easy to read and to know what he needs/wants. He lights up when he sees me which is completely precious and he is growing up way too fast.  He talks up a storm now and will try to mimic the noises you make.  He will also try to stick out his tongue when you do it to him.  He is constantly smiling and has laughed a few times but nothing on a regular basis.  Overall, he is a happy go lucky little guy.  He's even become more tolerant of his car seat (knock on wood).  We just can't get over what a good baby he is and (this sounds really bad) how different he is from Megan. He just has a completely different temperment.  But as I'll tell anyone, I EARNED him.  Megan gives us a run for our money every day so it's nice when I can just cuddle up with Joshua for some peace and quiet at the end of a long day.  He's just a precious, happy little guy.  We really need to bite the bullet and buy a video camera so we can get all of his cute little moments recorded.  Josh has an old one that he had in Iraq with him and I think it has a bit of Megan's first crawling but that's it.  Tapes are not very accessible in a digital world!  Other than that we have snippets here and there from our regular camera. I'll try to get him cooing and smiling one of these days and post it on the blog.

Multi Sport Camp Day Four: Soccer

....and I forgot my camera.  While I hate to admit it, soccer might be Megan's sport.  She does well at them all but she did particularly well dribbling the ball, something I could never do.  All I can think of is cold, wet, rainy, miserable days watching her play. Ugh.

Multi Sport Camp Day Three: Baseball

Megan had a lot of fun at her baseball day camp.  I am proud to say that she did not run frantically around the gym when it was her turn to run the bases!

Deer Crossing!

Megan has been interested in street signs and what they mean, particularly deer crossing signs.  She recently found out that there are also duck crossing signs and nearly gave me a heart attack when she saw one while we were driving in Tualatin.  Believe me, it was a fantastic event for her.  Well, when she saw the hat that Joshua got from Jeff and Bobbie Jo, she yelled, "Deer crossing!!!"  And by the way, he's pretty cute too.

Trick or Treat!

Megan actually got to go trick or treating twice this year and pulled in quite the haul!  A shopping center in Hillsboro was giving out candy on the 29th so she got some good practice for the big day.  Just about everyone that saw her commented on how pretty or cute she looked.  She really did make a perfect Cinderella!  Especially when she is sweet and when she's getting candy, she can't help it.

We've always taken Megan into town to trick or treat at the store fronts.  This year we weren't very impressed, maybe because it was a Sunday and many of the businesses were closed and/or the hoards of people that it attracts now.  We decided that we would give her some time to go to some houses too.  We took her to Josh's sister's neighborhood and it was great.  I don't remember seeing any cars driving around and it was pretty quiet.  We ended up hopping back and forth across the street to any house that had their porch light on.  She got a little freaked out by the scarier decorations but as long as one of us went to the door with her, the candy was worth the risk.  Josh and I both had a lot of fun with her this year.  I think from now on, that's what we'll do and forget the storefronts.  I do have to admit we made her go to more houses than she really needed to but we needed some candy for ourselves!

We got home relatively early and I threw together some baked potato soup that turned out REALLY good!  Then it was time to watch the Steelers game on the DVR!

 Precious little pea pod!
