Kindergarten Round Up

We signed Megan up for kindergarten last week.  When you're in the thick of it, it seems like their babyhood will last forever and then before you know it, they are on their way to 6 and getting ready for kindergarten.  Megan was very excited to see her school and learn all about it.  We found out that it is all day 9-3:20, five days a week!  I was very surprised by that and hopefully she will adjust well.  I guess when she starts school, we will be forced to cut out her naps.  Yes, she still naps, and yes she still needs them very much!  We also signed her up for the Two Way Immersion (TWI) program which means that she will be immersed in Spanish to eventually be a bilingual kiddo.  I don't have a lot of information about it except what we've gotten from friends of ours who are doing it in another district and apparently have been given a lot more info on it.  I can't wait to hear Jace and Megan speaking Spanish to eachother.  Or maybe that could be dangerous?  Anyway, I'm trying not to be anxious or worried about it for her.  I'm hoping she will embrace it and be confident in it.  The big picture ends in a bilingual adult who is a standout on college and job applications!

The other surprise we got (at least a few months ago while I was researching the school) is that she will have to wear a school uniform.  Now, for a girl who loves dressing herself and is all about what is pink, cute, pretty and adorable, this might be a bit of a challenge at first.  Hopefully we can find multiple ways of making navy blue, white and khaki all of the above!

Mother's Day Cuties

I got to sleep in today and was greeted by two of the cutest little faces upon waking with full hands, coffee and gifts!  Megan made me a necklace, bracelet and earrings and Daddy made a yummy breakfast especially for me.  After a relaxing morning we set out to find a fountain to stay cool in.  The kids had a great time and so did I.  I have the best little family ever!

Joshua wasn't really sure what to do at the fountain but I figured that since he likes to splash around in the tub and dunk his feet in the dog water, he'd have a blast.  Well, it seems he just needed something to put the water in in order to dump it out repeatedley over and over before he could really have a good time.  And then Megan needed one.
Joshua got bumped over by another little girl on accident. He wasn't hurt, he was just broken hearted.  He gets his drama from his sister.
 Little Diva.
Having fun together in between fighting over cups.

 Cutie girl!
Mister was a very happy boy.....

...until his sister dumped water over his head.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

More Cute Kids!

It was another beautiful day to enjoy the park yesterday.  Megan learned how to ride her bike without training wheels this week so we have been letting her practice as much as possible.  We went to a park that specifically had a sidewalk surrounding the playground so that she could go around and around while Joshua played.  The day was not the enjoyable experience I was hoping for unfortunately.  Megan has such anxiety about Joshua and being away from me that it was overwhelming for her.  She is such a protector of Joshua that if she can't see him, she has what I have to just call an anxiety attack.  If she loses sight of me, the same thing.  I have no idea why this happens to her or how to help her but after being extremely angry at her several meltdowns, I had to think about how she must be feeling inside in order to make her behave that way.  I always remind her that I will never leave her by herself and that with Joshua, I am the parent.  She doesn't have to worry about him like she does.  I talked about it when I blogged about our zoo trip as well.  She has a physical reaction to losing sight of me or worrying about Joshua, she actually gets a stomach ache and clutches it.  I just don't know what to do for her.  It can't be good for her though.

So, that being said, these are the pictures I got before she really hit maximum meltdown.  She is so proud of herself for riding without training wheels, it's very cute.  Once she did it, she hasn't looked back.  She can now start on her own and she's getting more and more comfortable.  She's doing a very good job!

Mister is completely opposite.  He is a very easy going, adventurous guy.  He'd walk a mile away from me exploring and not be worried a bit!  He just likes to get out and run around whether I'm there or not!

Ready for Spring or Summer....Just some warmth!

Another chilly night of tee ball last night.  Every day we watch the weather wondering if the rain will continue or hold off so we never know when we should have dinner and if/when we should tell Megan to get ready for her game.  I am so ready for some more permanent sunshine!  Last night they played the Twins.  It's pretty funny to watch them all play.  The coaches have to have a lot of patience!  The picture below is what happens every time a ball is hit.  The boys hit their knees and they then try to trap the ball in their glove.  I told Megan that if she would just stay on her feet and run, she would beat them to the ball.  Also that she can pick up the ball with her bare hand instead of trapping it.  She doesn't believe me.  So every ball hit, we have a dogpile!

Just dare hit it to me!!
Meanwhile, the baserunners are running.....Lucky thing there are no outs!

This one was a pretty good hit!
 Needed a little sissy love!

Entertaining Joshua and keeping him out of the way is half the battle.  He usually won't touch his bat, settling only for the metal bats.  He was satisfied by this for about 5 minutes.  Luckily this field is located close to the swings for another 5 minutes of entertainment/containment.
Megan and this little guy were having some converstation.  We have about 6 pictures of it.  It's pretty cute.  Both Josh and I were wondering what they might be talking about.

 Cute little ball player!
