Just Mom and Dad this time!

So tonight, Megan's real birthday, we took her to Chuck E. Cheese. She had so much fun and she is in love with Chuck! I think Chuck was in love with her too though because 'he' (who I'm sure was a she) kept coming back to her wherever she was. She got to ride on anything she was big enough to ride and played a couple of games. And of course she had some pizza. She started to hide her food and tell us she was done. We think she was just way too excited to eat and wanted to get back out there.

It was another relatively long day. We went to JCPenney last night to get her 1 year pictures taken. We requested a specific photographer because he did such a good job with her at her 9 month pictures but for some reason he didn't do it. We weren't happy with what we got so long story short, we rescheduled for tonight. So we went back in and got MUCH better pictures this time. So if you need a good photographer, his name is Rob at the Washington Square JCPenney!

So Chuck E. Cheese was after all of that and she was still a sweet angel. We've turned her carseat around in my car and I think she thinks it's pretty cool. It's nice looking in my rear view mirror and being able to see her little face back there now. She crashed in the car on the way home and she's in bed now.

We just love her so much. We were really blessed when we got her! Happy Birthday our sweet angel. Your mommy and daddy love you more than you will ever know!

Happy Birthday Megan!

Well, the birthday weekend is over. She doesn't actually turn one until tomorrow but we got her birthday parties all out of the way this weekend. We had one at my parents' house for all of my family and friends on that side of town on Saturday and one at our house on Sunday for all of our friends and family our side of town. Megan was such a good girl through all of the festivities. She was pretty cute with her cake. She didn't eat a whole lot of it, I think she got too much icing at first and was overwhelmed a bit. She didn't really care to open her presents. She was more interested in the paper of course.

Crashed out. She was so good all day long and then when it was over....it was over. She was out like a light!

So then Sunday came along and it was time for a whole new party! She probably started to wonder if this was going to be an everyday thing!

Josh got into decorating her cupcakes. He did most of them and they turned out really cute!
And while we were busy trying to get ready, Megan got into everything including this ribbon she pulled off the counter.
Here's her Sunday cake!
Lesly and Megan, Princesses.
Here's Henley trying out the zebra. That is by far the most popular gift! I know Aunt Tami is proud!
Cake Time! She ate a lot more on Sunday than she did on Saturday. I scraped a bit of the icing away so that she could actually get some cake. She piled it in. Mommy's girl.

Daddy helped with presents this time. She got a lot of books and games.
And from Grandma Schwartz......Her first $50 bill!
When the party was over, I had to be the one to rock her. I wanted to cuddle with my little baby who isn't all that little anymore! She crashed again. Two BIG days for a little girl!
Thank you to everyone that came to her parties. She is really very lucky to have all of her friends and family love her so much! We sure do!

Fun Filled October

Most of October has been spent planning for Megan's big one year birthday bash. She's so close to walking but I think she figures why walk when she can crawl faster. Every day she does something where Josh and I say, she's pretty cute, huh? Whether it's her laugh or her smile or even her new tantrums, she's pretty cute, huh? Even at 6 o'clock on the morning, she's pretty cute. Hopefully we aren't raising a monster thinking she can get out of anything just by giving us her smile because it would be pretty easy to give her anything she wants. And she knows when she isn't doing right and you correct her, she just shines that smile and gives a little laugh (laughing at us of course) to get out of trouble. It works more often than not I think. It's pretty easy to be nostalgic these days thinking of how little she was in our arms, seemingly not so long ago. I can't even believe it's been a year since we brought her home. It's amazing. We definitely don't know what we'd do without her.

So here's that cute little girl a year later....
She had a bit of a diaper rash so we decided to 'air her out'. The next thing we knew, she was into the cabinets. All of the other pictures are a little too indecent to post. But here's one that will give you an idea.
And then, cutest of all. I love this picture! Tami took it while babysitting her at her house. She's pretty cute, huh?

Megan's First Trip(s) to the Pumpkin Patch

Last year at the time I was VERY pregnant and hoping that Megan would enter the world at any time. The day I went into labor, I spent a couple of hours at the pumpkin patch with Kathy, Glen and Lesly. So every year I'm sure the pumpkin patch will bring back that memory to me. A happy reminder of the day we met our daughter!

This year, Megan got to go to three pumpkin patches. It really wasn't the plan, just how it happened. Josh, Megan and I first went to Plumper Pumpkin patch on a weekday. We were the only ones there so it really wasn't very exciting but we got some cute pictures and I got some gourds to decorate our house with.

So the next Farm we went to was the famous Roloff Farm. They are the family that stars in 'Little People, Big World'.

I wonder what Megan thinks of the camera we constantly stick in her face, and by 'we' I mean I. Josh wouldn't want to be lumped into that statement. Anyway, here's another pose and by the way this is my favorite new winter outfit. The vest is the cutest thing ever and I make her wear it practically every day and coordinate her outfits so that she CAN wear it!

We never actually GOT a pumpkin at any of these patches. The Roloff Farm had a 2 hour wait to go on a tour of their farm that we did not wait for and the line just to weigh and pay for your pumpkin had to be at least a 1/2 hour - not a fun time for a 1 year old. So we just saw the sights and I had to go to work but Daddy and Megan.........

....went to Lakeview Farms and met Jeff, Bobbie Jo, Hunter, Aunt Shirley and Gene. Cousins Hunter and Megan had some bonding time and then Daddy took a TIRED baby home for a nap. She had quite the day.
