Wilsonville Water Park

Kelly, Megan and I went to the water park in Wilsonville on Thursday. She had a lot of fun splashing and playing the in water. Its interesting to watch her interact with other kids, especially those that don't know her. Some are really sweet and let her follow them around and some are......not. My mommy instincts come out big time when that happens. Of course my sweet little Megan can be quite a turkey too sometimes so I try to remember that.
This is Megan 9 months old at the same park. Quite a difference from the last picture!

Sitting in the water at ALMOST 3 years old. Unbelievable.

Zoo Visit with Lesly

We told Lesly back in June that we wanted to take her to the zoo with us for her birthday. We finally got around to it, which is good because we leave on vacation soon and she starts back to school right after that. Right now she is in the hospital because the night before we went to the zoo she was getting fevers and with no white cells that is a scary thing. She was okay while we were at the zoo and then had another fever that evening. She has to remain fever free for 24 hours in order to be released back home. Hopefully she'll be home by Saturday.

Lesly needed to take a rest so we decided to stop and watch the Wild Bird show. It was really cool and they flew right past us a couple of times. Megan actually sat and watched!

Oaks Park

For some reason when I upload pictures now they appear grainy, which of course annoys me AND blogger won't let me put my pictures in order - REALLY annoying.

Today we went to Oaks Park for their Preschool Playtime. It turned out to be a dreary day but we had a great time anyway. Just by luck, Josh was able to go with us and especially lucky of Megan because he was able to go on rides with her that I couldn't (I get pukey). It was 2 hours of fun just for kids under 6 and you could ride all of the little kiddo rides all you want for only $6. Can't beat that! We will definitely be going back.

She's pretty cute.

Having fun going up and down!

Megan loved the roller coaster! She went on 2 or 3 times.

She got to go on the carousel and pick any animal and of course she picked the doggy.
She's saying, "All aboard!"
Driving the car.
Cute little lips.
More roller coaster!

Happy Early Birthday Grandma!

Mom's birthday isn't actually until Sept. 1 but they are leaving for LaPine and then we are headed to Mexico when they get back so I thought we'd do an early celebration. Since Tami had Megan I got to have fun setting up the table. I think it turned out really cute.

Megan hamming it up.
This is a really cute video of Megan doing the hokey pokey with Tami and Kelly. I of course forgot that I couldn't turn the camera so even though you're going to have to crank your neck to look at it, it's very well worth it! While you're watching you'll see that Megan keeps looking over in a certain direction, even flipping up her glasses to see better - she's making sure Jon is watching her!

One Big Update

I have lots of random pictures with no major events really so I'm just going to post them and tell you about them. Tami took Megan for the day on Sunday and I decided it would be a perfect day to clean out Megan's room. She just had way too much stuff for her to find anything let alone remain interested in any one thing for any given time. We took out two boxes of toys, one for garage sale and one for storage and then a couple of her larger toys that were taking up space. She has yet to ask where anything is that we took out so hopefully she'll be okay with it all. It looks a lot better and she has played in there more today than she has in a long time.

We had new renters move in next door. We have high hopes for her as she's already started doing some yardwork -WATERING - the lawn (imagine that) and looks like she might actually take care of the place. She is probably younger than us and has 3 young kids. Her parents have been over and look like they help her out a lot. We thought the best thing we could do is to go introduce ourselves so that their might be some guilt associated with how their actions might affect us! You know, reverse psychology. Anyway, Megan and I made them cookies (poor us) and brought them over to them. I'm sure by the time Megan is 18 we'll have many of these pictures. Josh took the side of Megan's bed off last week. We were hoping to incorporate the big girl, big girl bed, big girl potty idea all at once. 2 for 3 so far. Megan got to help Papa mow the lawn like a big girl. Dad built this bench in their back yard along with the new fence along the side. Looks cool huh! Now I want one - of each. Megan always asks to brush her teeth after her bath and then to put make up on when I'm doing mine. She's pretty cute. One more reason I always say she's 2 going on 16.

Megan's Softball Debut

I played in a softball tournament yesterday so my bag was out with my glove and she started playing with it. So, we HAD to go to the store and get her her very first ball and glove!

"Family Battles Insurance Denial to Save Daughter"

The Hillsboro Argus recently interviewed Glen and Kathy about Lesly's insurance issues. Please read and pass it on to everyone you know.

Megan's Best Day Ever - Part Four

Here is Megan playing "Whack-a-Mole" and so proud of her ticket.
As soon as we got back to the ride area we saw some familiar faces. Pat, Billie and the boys were there so we let the kids go on a couple of rides together.
Jaxon was trying to tell Megan how to raise and lower her plane from the sidelines. She didn't really figure it out until the last go around. But she had fun!

Last game to get rid of the tickets, Jaxon and Megan had a squirt gun game together.
And Megan wins!

Megan's Best Day Ever - Part Three

Sorry about the long pause, I ran out of time and couldn't finish posting about the fair. It was so hot while we were there, we had to take a break and let Megan cool off a bit. We walked right past a snow cone stand and though, PERFECT! Megan loves to chew ice so flavored ice is a dream come true. She practically ate the whole thing. We found a table to sit at under a tent and when the wind blew just right, the misters cooled us off. It felt really good! We had a bunch of tickets left but we thought we'd go see the animals and head back to the rides after that. She got to see horses, cows, goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens - of course she loved it. She even got to see a cow getting milked although I'm pretty sure she didn't understand it.

We had to go through the games to get to the rides so we let her play a couple to burn through the tickets.

Megan's Best Day Ever - Part Two

Yes....that is my little baby girl on the ROLLER COASTER. At first I told Josh no but then she was having so much fun on the other rides and he is convinced that she is an adrenaline junkie, he asked her if she wanted to do it and she said yes. The first time around I wanted to cry because her face looked a little scared. I would have jumped on that thing while it was moving if I had to to get her. By the second time around though her face had turned into glee! I still couldn't wait to get my hands on her and squeeze her. She got off and I told her how brave she was and what a big girl she was. My heart was doing flip flops!

Everyone wins here, the guy was helping her to ring the bell with the hammer.....
...and she got her own blow up hammer...
Megan had a change of heart getting on this ride, as soon as her ticket was scanned so Daddy got on with her. Pretty cute huh?

(....there's more....)
