Christmas 2012

We had a great Christmas dinner together as usual.  Everyone had great gifts and lots of yummy food!

Joshua eating lefse sent from Minnesota.  I think he's hooked.

I can't remember what was so upsetting but he is just as cute with that big lip sticking out!

Christmas Morning

We had a great Christmas morning.  We were really lucky to have Stacy spend the night and be there with us for all of the excitement.  Our house is very small so she got to spend the night on the air mattress in the family room.  We got a little wake up call around 2ish in the morning from Megan and we promptly told her that Santa hadn't come yet and she NEEDED to go back to bed.  Little did we know, she had already gone out to the family room and tried to wake Stacy up who also told her to go back to bed.  This also means that she saw the presents too but luckily she did go back to bed until around 7:00.  When they did wake up, as always we had them wait in their room until we could get ready with cameras and stuff.  Here is our sleepy guy making his entrance with sissy following behind picking up Santa's annual candy cane trail to her presents.

Mister found his stash right away!
 And so did Megan!
Super excited about tic tacs in her stocking!
Santa heard the news that Megan's parents were still making her wear a 3T winter coat.  I had no idea since it still fit her just fine!
Joshua's #1 stop: Cookie that Santa left behind.  #2 stop: M&Ms from sissy's stocking.  Stop #3: Cars and trucks.

Megan got a cd/karaoke machine with microphones that she can sing her heart out to!

She got a dancing game from Papa and Grandma T for the Wii.
Mister got his first RC car that flips upside down.  It only has 2 buttons so it's really easy for him to use.
And easy for Megan to use.....Josh's hand is most likely keeping her from swiping it from Joshua.
We had a great morning and were so glad to have Stacy with us.  Megan loved having her spend the night with us.  After a little bit of relaxation, we were on our way to Grandma and Papa's house for dinner and more presents!

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we had Jon, Kelly and Stacy over to decorate cookies and have dinner.  Jon and Josh busied themselves with Xbox.  After a frantic search and run to the craft store, we replaced my suddenly missing decorating tips and could finally start on the cookies. (In other news, we found the bag of tips in the backyard about 2 months later....AUTZEN!)  Josh made his newly famous ribs on the Traeger, I made AMAZING twice baked potatoes.  Believe me, they are amazing, and could possibly cause a clogged artery WHILE you are eating them.  After all of the festivites were over and the kids were in bed, I had a lot of elf help wrapping last minute presents!

Daddy and Megan decorated a gingerbread house too!
 Yummy ribs!
Yummy rib fingers playing peek a boo!
It gets a little silly when we are all together!

Megan's Christmas Program

Every year they do a Christmas program at Megan's preschool.  This year she got the role of Mary and she WORKED it!  She did a very good job and sang a solo of Away in the Manger.  She said, "Mom are you going to cry?"  I said, "Yes, but you just keep singing okay?"  She said, "Good, because I want you to be so proud of me!"  Of course I did, and I was.  She did a great job.  She had quite the audience too, both sets of grandparents, an aunt and uncle and a couple of cousins made the trip to see her.  She felt so special!

Megan asked that I straighten her hair like the real Mary.
Megan and her cousin Danny, just one of her favorite young men.  Luckily all of these boys that she has crushes on are related to us!

Tree Decorating

We decided to wait until Mister went down for a nap to decorate the tree.  As usual we ended up with an ornament cluster right in the front where Megan decides all of her ornaments should be.  She did a good job though and had lots of fun doing it!

Josh got this ornament from Jay and Alia in memory of our Sam.  It still makes us cry to think of him.  He was such a good dog!
