Halloween Party at School

Here's our little Cinderella in full costume for her Halloween party at school.  She won a prize for Cutest Costume in her age group.  She's such a girly girl at times and then can be a tom boy in the blink of an eye.

Halloween Dress Rehearsal

Megan is going to be Cinderella for Halloween.  She got to try on her costume for the first time and promptly wanted to dance with "the Prince".

 A polite curtsy....

Megan's Birthday with Mom and Dad

We've made somewhat of a tradition of celebrating Megan with a big birthday party with all of her friends and family on one day and then keeping her actual birthday for ourselves.  This year I had the not so bright idea to take her roller skating.  She decided that she wanted her birthday dinner at none other than Red Robin.  Roller skating was not the successful venture that we were expecting it to be.  Last year Megan skated for the first time at Oaks Park and did a great job.  We found out quickly however that she did so well because they will tighten the wheels on the little skates there whereas the rink we went to on her birthday does not.  Of course our competitive little girl did not take that in stride.  She got very frustrated, had a few meltdowns on the roller rink floor including tears and smacking the floor.  Good times.  Once it was all said and done, we did have a happy child but a not so happy mom.  On our way back to our table, I fell and landed squarely on my butt.  I immediately knew I was not going to bounce right back from it.  It is now 6 days later and I feel like I was hit by a car which is better than the bus that it was originally.  Anything for our little girl, right?

We took Megan to Red Robin and she got the full birthday treatment with song and sundae.  This is one little girl who loves being the center of attention!

Joshua's First Swim

Joshua had his first swimming session recently.  He absolutely loved it and cooed and gooed the whole time.  He was such a cutie - he IS such a cutie.  Megan is getting better and better in the pool as well.  She actually swims under water a bit, although she thinks she's just showing us how she can put her head under water. Sissy and brother were both exhausted when we got home!

Multi Sport Camp Day One: Basketball

I surprised Megan a couple of weeks ago with the news that she would be going to a little camp where she would get to play basketball, tennis, baseball and soccer.  She has affectionately started to call it her "gym class".  The first week was a couple of weeks ago and started with basketball.  She had such a good time.  She is one of 2 girls in the 10 child group.  I of course have to mention that she is a complete stud and gives every boy in there a run for their money, if she doesn't run over them.  That being said, I am a very proud mom.  Besides that, I am proud of how she listens to the teacher and is kind to the other kids.  It's so fun to watch her enjoy something that I grew up loving and enjoying as well.  At the end of her first class, they had a 5 v. 5 scrimmage - controlled chaos - and she was grinning from ear to ear up and down the court.  Adorable.

Megan's 4th Birthday

We celebrated Megan's 4th birthday party tonight with lots of friends and family at her choice of Chuck E. Cheese.  She is so blessed to have so many people who love her.  I do have to say, she is quite irresistable.  Right in the middle of it all, I basically started bawling because I was so overwhelmed with how proud I am of her and of course the realization that she is getting so big so fast.  During the celebration Chuck E. talked and sang and asked her to dance on stage.  She was all smiles and laughs and had a GREAT time!  She is definitely not a shy girl.  She got up in front of everyone and did everything they asked of her, the center of attention and loved every minute of it.

At the end of the night everyone was exhausted.  I think all of the kids had a great time and maybe even the parents too.  Thanks to everyone that made it out even though it was such a late night for everyone.  We appreciate everything!!!
