Dada's Shoes

Fortunately I am not the only woman in the house that loves shoes. That might mean (someday) that Josh stops giving me a hard time about it. Until then (and after) Megan and I will enjoy hours of shoe shopping fun!

Yeah!!!

This is the BIG girl that just went #1 AND #2 on the potty chair!!! When she goes (this is about the fourth time but she's never done #2) she gets a treat which is a squirt of whip cream. She loves it! She's getting so big!!
And by the way, yes I did stoop to the level of taking a picture of it and yes I will spare you of that. I did however send it to her Daddy who has yet to comment. :)

What a ham.....

Megan is getting smarter and smarter. Just within the last few days she has doubled her vocabulary it seems. She now says:
Night Night
Done
Apple Juice
Hot
Help
Fishies
Crab
Pretty
Eyes
Trees
and lots more!
She also has become more and more of a little ham when it comes to the camera. Yes, she has seen it in her face once or twice but now when she sees it, she knows exactly what mama wants! Can you tell? Tami took the below picture, trying to get a sweet, candid moment of Devin reading to Megan. But Megan heard the camera, looked up and, "Cheese!"
Then one night at dinner, she found out she could do this. I'm not sure how....anyone have any ideas?

This is Megan's first finger painting experience. She didn't really know what to do with it on her fingers. She kept wanting me to wipe it off. But she eventually got the hang of it and eventually I realized that I should have put her art bib on!
All I said was, "Smile Megan!"
Precious fingers!

Is anybody out there?

I know I'm a bit of a blog addict, posting all the time, but where the heck is everyone else? All of my fellow bloggers have seemed to drop off the planet! I'm sure SOMEONE has something exciting going on! Geez!

8 Hours Down, 692 To Go

Well, my first day of school is over. It was a full, long 8 hour day. They don't usually start on Sundays which is probably better because you know how first days are, lots of talk, lots of boring information, not a whole lot of content on what you're really there for. It was good overall though. The class all seems really nice, I think everyone should get along well. There are only 12 of us and we're going to be together for the next 11 months. About 5 of us are mothers with young children so that will be nice to have someone to relate to in that way. Our teacher seems really nice and helpful and she also has 2 young boys and went through our same school while taking care of those boys so she knows exactly what it takes and is really supportive. She has even given us her cell phone number in case we have questions on homework or anything else! There is going to be quite a bit of reading, lots of Anatomy and Physiology that I've been avoiding all of these years but NO MATH! Josh can help me with that though and I think it will all be interesting enough to keep ME interested. I can't wait to get into the more practical side of things. Natalie (our teacher), said that we should be able to start taking clients around the end of November. Before that we do about 6 Friends and Family appointments. I'm sure my guinea pigs will be lining up!! That's one thing I'm REALLY excited about - getting all of this stuff done to me!

Playdate with Natalie

We finally found some time to get together with Natalie and Sheila. They ended up coming out to our house, had lunch and then the girls played outside in the pool. But who knew the bucket would be so fun? Megan and Natalie are pretty cute together, they are very sweet to eachother and play really well. Natalie talks up a storm and I am always amazed at the things that come out of her mouth! Megan needs to hang out with that over achiever more often!
Playing with eachother's shoes.
Natalie found the bucket and Megan helped her fill it up while she was sitting in it.

September 11, 2008

I just wanted to take some time to remember that day 7 years ago, a time that it seemed the country came together as one with one cause in mind - healing one another. Now, with all of the economic, political turmoil that we are hearing about daily, I hope that we can do the same, at least one day of the year - call a truce. This is one day in American history that we all have in common. We all hurt on this day and will every September 11th for the rest of our lives. Its the sad truth. What we also need to remember is that almost every day since, we've also been losing soldiers who are fighting against the people that did this to us and then some. So while we don't have the massive casualty loss that we had in that one day, families are losing sons, daughters, fathers, uncles, brothers one by one and suffering all by themselves without anyone really even noticing. If my research is correct, we lost 2,819 people on 9/11/01. We felt it, we heard it we cried about it all together as a nation. But much more quietly, much more slowly we have also lost 4,155 people from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. But the pain is still there. So as you remember all of the heroes of 9/11, please also the remember the heroes in Iraq and Afghanistan that are still fighting to come home and those that never will come home.

Kissy Bait

The day before we went to LaPine we met mom, Tami and Kelly at Juan Colorado for lunch. It was the day that I was handing Megan over to Grandma for safe keeping to LaPine. Here are some pictures that Kelly got. The only bad thing about my camera is that it's not small enough to fit in my purse. If it was, wow, we'd be in trouble. Anyway.....here Megan found some root beer on the table and decided she could have some.
Megan now knows how to say cheese, the food kind, yes but somehow she also figured out that you say it when people take a picture too. Cheese!
If you look in my hand, you will find the bait that attracted the little baby Megan. Everytime we eat there, she knows exactly what those little wrapped green packages are. "Ease?" "Ease?" We took advantage of the poor little girl and made her work for the chocolate!

What would I do without a digital camera?

Pasta for lunch - Megan's favorite!

Can you say......

I was told that I needed more video of Megan on the blog so here is my attempt. I had a hard time thinking of Megan's new words because she has so many now. She surprises us everyday with something new. Kelly, I'm afraid you might be called Robbie from now on.

More from LaPine

We went into Bend while we were in LaPine and Megan got an early birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa. She got this cute little vest, the brown shirt underneath and some pink leggings that we'll have to find a cute skirt for.

I brought the camera out to specifically take pictures of Megan in her new outfit and what did she do? She pulled up her chair and turned it around so she could specifically avoid the camera. She's getting too smart! We celebrated mom's birthday while we were there and of course we had to have hot fudge brownie sundaes. Megan got to help blow the candle out.

Megan and grandpa relaxing in front of the t.v.

We got a day to ourselves when Grandma and Grandpa took Megan home with them. We drove around a little and went to LaPine State Park. Here's a picture that Josh got of the Deschutes.

Who are you?

A friend of mine recently posted about not knowing who her blog visitors are. It made me really curious about mine too. I added Sitemeter and that gives me an idea but there are still a few locations that I'm not sure of. I've added a gadget that you can announce to me and everyone else that you are "Following" my blog. Add your name to it or just leave a comment and let me know who you are! Thanks!

Labor Day in LaPine

We finally got a chance to go back to LaPine. Megan went down with mom and dad on Thursday night and was a great traveler. Imagine that! We left after Josh got home from work on Friday and got here about 8:30 p.m. just in time to see Megan before she went to sleep. Since then we've been relaxing, doing a little sightseeing, went into Bend to the Old Mill District and Megan has done some swimming of course.

Now on to the bittersweet part. We were last here in July '07 and THIS is what Megan looked like in her pool! :(
