We had such a great time at Silverwood....but it didn't start out that way. We had our vacation planned for a couple of months and getting closer and closer to the departure date, I was checking Weather.com for forecast updates. It was going to be HOT and sunny! Yes! To me, that meant fun, fun and a bit of a tan! As our arrival to Coeur D'Alene became imminent, the clouds were closing in. The skies grew darker and then BAM! Downpour! I was texting and status updating as fast as I could about how bummed I was about the weather. We were supposed to be in a theme park in an hour! My friends and family were inundated with my frustration! (Sorry about that by the way.) Once we arrived to the campground, we couldn't even find our site because the roads were so flooded you couldn't tell if you were driving on the road or on a campsite. Ours happened to be covered in water by the time we actually located it. We sat and stewed in the car for a good hour trying to figure out what we were going to do. We had decided while still driving that worst case scenario meant that we would just have to fork out the cash for a hotel room instead of camping. Then we still had the question of whether we would even pay the money to enter the park. Would rides be going? Would it just be miserable? I decided, and eventually convinced Josh that since we were there, to just make the most of it and give the park a try. By the time we drove from the campground to the park entrance (200 yards) the rain had stopped and slowly but surely blue sky began to appear. It never rained another drop and it ended up being a beautiful 80ish degree day. We had a blast! We were SO happy that we gave it a shot. Megan had the time of her life! She got to spend a lot of time with her dad on rides and will always have those memories. Joshua couldn't go on many rides but he was very happy to let Sissy do it. He was a real trooper.
We spent the whole first day in the amusement park. That night we met up with the Lords at their campsite where Josh had decided it would be best to pitch our tent as well. Ours was still too wet and soggy, and I think on a hill for our tent. We had a great night camping with them and headed off to the park again the next morning. We went on more rides with the Lords for the first part of the day and then went to the waterpark side of the park. We found chairs all together and set up for the day. The wave pool was first and Megan seriously did not get out for 2 hours! She was jumping and splashing and swimming! Joshua had a great time too. He even got to go down a little slide with me and float on the Lazy River with all of us.
We had so much fun and can't wait to go back!!
This was Joshua's favorite thing ever! HE got to drive the antique car all by himself!
Helicopter with sissy!
Megan was big enough to get her own boat!
Megan loved with water ride. She got soaked along with everyone else!

This is how they looked starting Day Two.

Daddy took the kids on the train with the Lords while I grabbed a coffee and some much needed quiet alone time!
Josh and I went on this roller coaster "Aftershock" as our last ride on the 2nd day. It went just about every direction you can think of and won an award from Travel Channel as one of the best roller coasters in the country. It was definitely a good one and I definitely know where it got it's name! I felt it for at least an hour!
