We've made somewhat of a tradition of celebrating Megan with a big birthday party with all of her friends and family on one day and then keeping her actual birthday for ourselves. This year I had the not so bright idea to take her roller skating. She decided that she wanted her birthday dinner at none other than Red Robin. Roller skating was not the successful venture that we were expecting it to be. Last year Megan skated for the first time at Oaks Park and did a great job. We found out quickly however that she did so well because they will tighten the wheels on the little skates there whereas the rink we went to on her birthday does not. Of course our competitive little girl did not take that in stride. She got very frustrated, had a few meltdowns on the roller rink floor including tears and smacking the floor. Good times. Once it was all said and done, we did have a happy child but a not so happy mom. On our way back to our table, I fell and landed squarely on my butt. I immediately knew I was not going to bounce right back from it. It is now 6 days later and I feel like I was hit by a car which is better than the bus that it was originally. Anything for our little girl, right?
We took Megan to Red Robin and she got the full birthday treatment with song and sundae. This is one little girl who loves being the center of attention!
