Nome History

Karen and Vern showed us this old cabin that was built during the gold rush.  I guess, once it's vacated, anyone can go and claim it as their own.  This cabin is one that a friend of theirs claimed and they have spent time at with a campfire and hanging out.
This cabin was actually Wyatt Earp's.  He came to Nome in 1897 for the Gold Rush where he owned and operated a few saloons and gambing operations.  One of the saloons was within viewing distance of this cabin.  It's still an operating saloon.  Another that he owned is in town.
Megan's favorite place in the car is now on your lap!

I want to claim a gold rush cabin!!! And Megan not in her car seat makes me scared. But I'm sure she thinks it is fantastic. Good luck with that once you get home. ;)

Wouldn't that be nice? The neighbors moved out, let's go claim their house!
